A Brief Biography of Dr. Badshah Zar Abdali

Prof. Dr. Bad Shahzar Abdali, son of the late Abdullah Khan, is a resident of Khost province and belongs to the Tani tribe. He opened his eyes to the world in the year 2018 in a poor family in the village of Koti Shamal near the center of Khost province.

He joined Gharghasht High School in Khost province in 1964 and graduated from the said high school in 1976. In 1977, he joined the faculty of medical medicine at Kabul Medical University after passing the entrance examination. In 1983 he graduated from this faculty with good grades.

After graduation, he worked in Kabul’s Aliabad Hospital, Ibn Sina Sadri Hospital and Central Police Hospital. He received specialized training in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Central 400 Bed Hospital of the Armed Forces (Academy of Medical Sciences) and after his specialization, he worked in the 200 Bed Police Hospital for one year.

Professor Dr. Abdali joined the Department of General Surgery of the Second Medical Institute of Tashkend, Republic of Uzbekistan in 1988 for his doctorate (PhD). He successfully obtained his doctorate (PhD) diploma in the department of general surgery in 1991. He has performed valuable medical services and surgical operations for his countrymen in the departments of neurology and general surgery in the last three decades. For the first time, he officially invented a 30-bed private hospital in the framework of the private sector in Khost province under the name of Matun Baba Hospital. When the Afghan University was transferred to Khost province from Peshawar, Pakistan, he was appointed as a lecturer in the surgery department of the Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Dr. Badshah Zar Abdali has up to (18) scientific works, six volumes of which are surgical textbooks, which include:

  • Basics of surgery
  • Clinical examination system in surgery
  • General Surgery Vol.1
  • General Surgery Volume II
  • Abdominal appendage surgery
  • Neurosurgery

All the books mentioned above are in accordance with the curriculum of the Ministry of Higher Education’s Faculty of Therapeutic Medicine, which is currently being used by medical students in Pashto language universities of the country.

Also, in the field of medicine, he has published dozens of scientific and research articles in international and domestic journals.

In addition, in 2012, he founded Ahmed Shah Abdali Institute of Higher Education and the Faculty of Therapeutic Medicine in the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education for the residents of Khost and the South-Eastern region. Within the framework of the Ministry of Public Health, the Institute of Health Sciences named after Ahmad Shah Abdali was established, which was a great dream of all the residents of Khost, where hundreds of young male and females are currently studying.
